Before the use of inorganic & synthetic pigments, Moroccan Yellow oxide & Red oxide have proved their usefulness for millennia in traditional rituals and ceremonies. An iron oxide compound which is insoluble in water but has excellent lightfastness. 

This grade of iron oxide is pure golden yellow & golden red earth colour from Midelt in Morocco. The origins of this particular pigment conjure up images of Berber tents and nomads and the vast Sahara desert, and the brilliance of colour contrasting against the endless sunny plains against the crystal blue Mediterranean sea.
